Грузинский театр для меня открылся не вчера и не  позавчера, это было в 1976 году, когда я увидел «Кавказский меловой круг» в Ереване. Театр Руставели тогда гастролировал В Ереване и в дальнейшем, лично, для меня, стал чуть ли не лучшим театром в мировом театральном пространстве. В советское время, когда программа, особенно система Станиславского - работа актера над собой, работа актера над ролью, было поставлено четко, по учебникам и вдруг Роберт Стуруа показал то, чему нас не учили, точнее, показал противоположное тому, что нас учили…

The theatre is a 'living dead'. It is neither dead nor alive. It is lifeless: devoid of life, devoid of vitality, having lost all its life-giving power. This Manifesto is dictated by the desire to see theatre alive again. Theatre people usually say that cinema is dead - art and theatre is alive.
