On 30 May 1981 the Telavi Theater moved to the new building (current building of the theater). The architects and project authors were: G. Jabua, K. Memanishvili and E. Tskhakaia. It is one of the samples of Soviet architecture. It is special by the castle-flag of 17th century in its lobby. Pano is painted in the lobby, on the round wall (author Yury Klibadze). It has following facilities: galls, lobby, vestibule, chandelier. Internal renovation works (dressing rooms, guest rooms, lobby, etc.) were conducted in 2014-2015. Final rehabilitation of the building, renovation of the external façade was conducted in 2016.
