In 1990 one more children’s theater added to the Georgian theater history in Sokhumi. By initiative of Sokhumi intelligence and their promotion Sokhumi Georgian Theater of Teenagers “White Wave: was established. On 10 May 1991 the premiere of the first play “Our yard” by I. Calab was held. The presentation of newly formed theater was blessed by the Metropolitan of Tskhum-Abkhazia – Davit. This day became historical as the dream of many years to create the hearth to preserve Georgian spirituality and national identity of Georgian intelligence living in Sokhumi came true. But following military activities in Abkhazia left mark on the functioning of the theater and it became internally displaced together with many thousands of residents of Abkhazia. On 7 Mat 2003 according to the resolution of Abkhazia A/R it was awarded with the state status. Nowadays the theater acts in Tbilisi and holds the plays on the big stage of N. Dumbadze Professional State Theater of Teenagers, participates in the festivals locally and internationally, has tours in different regions of Georgia and abroad. The theater was awarded with the special prize “Machabela” of Theatric Society of Georgian on 4 February, for its contribution in patriotic ideology development. Outstanding directors, artists, composers, choreographers and actors work in our theater, namely: Davit Kobakhidze, Nugzar Lortkipanikdze, Tinatin Heine, Jeiran Pachuashvili, Aivenho Tchelidze, Ushangi Imerlishvili, Mirian Shvelidze, Ivane Askurava, Iakob Bobokhidze, Giorgi Chlaidze, Kira Mebuke, Giorgi Osepashvili, Givi Odikadze, Ramaz Kemularia, Rezo Tavartkiladze, Nugzar Kurashvili, Zurab Antelava, Giorgi Ratiani, Nugzar Tserediani, Liana Mikashavidze, etc. At this moment, 10 active plays are in the theater repertoire.
