Khulo State Drama Theater was established in 1937, in 1952 it was closed and restarted functioning since 1958 in form of Public theater. In 1992 the theater returned state status. In 2003 first time in the theater history professional staff came to it, reflecting on its creative work successfully. The theater repertoire is basically oriented both modern Georgian and foreign playwright.

The theater is located on the highest point from the sea in the World theaters, approximately on 1020 meters.

Also, the theater actively participates in festivals within the country and holds tours both within the country and abroad.
