Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theater located in the center of Batumi, was opened in 1952 and is oldest drama theater in Adjara. The theater is considered as a cultural and creative life center of the city and region.

The artistic director of the theater is director Andro Enukidze. The theater performances cover different genres: comedy, tragedy, phantasmagoria, plays and performances for children and teenagers.

In the period of 2015-2018 the theater underwent complete rehabilitation (capital renovation). It has one Big Stage in the main building, considered for 483 spectators and experimental stage for 120 spectators.
